March is almost here and there is still time for snowbirds to find that dream vacation home near one of the professional baseball spring training camps in the Phoenix Metro. The Valley of the Sun is a thriving hub of activity with some of the nations finest restaurants, a variety of retail shopping from economy to luxury budgets, and spectacular desert scenery with indescribable sunsets. The Peoria Sports Complex is the winter home for the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners. The new Glendale Stadium with 13,500 seats is now host for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. The Cleveland Indians and Cincinnatti Reds will be bringing new excitement to the state-of-the-art $108 million Goodyear Ballpark. Surprise Baseball Park is home for the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals with its family-friendly grassy lawn and a merry-go-round in its right field concourse. And finally, the Maryvale Ball Park is home for the Milwaukie Brewers.
The Chicago Cubs made their debut in Mesa’s Hohokam ballpark with the spring training’s only live organist. You will need to get your tickets early for these games due to fast sellout. Diablo Stadium in Tempe is winter home for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the luxurious Scottsdale Stadium is host for the San Francisco Giants. And for you Oakland A fans out there, don’t forget your team’s winter showing at the Phoenis Municipal Ball Park.
With Phoenix only a half-day drive from Los Angeles and a short flight from the San Francisco Bay area, thousands of screaming fans come to the Valley to cheer for their home teams for the entire month of March.
